HBS, Inc. is a Licensed General Contractor located in Auburn, Alabama. The company has a proven track record of successful commercial, industrial, and custom residential projects, since its inception in 1946. HBS, Inc. has an excellent reputation for delivering projects with the highest level of quality, on time, and within budget using many methods including competitive bid, construction management, negotiated, and design-build.
THE HISTORY
HBS, Inc. was founded in 1946 by Charles S. Rush, a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in architecture, and was known as Home Building and Supply Company, Inc. Mr. Rush was a highly regarded businessman whose company engaged primarily in the building of homes and light commercial facilities. His dedication to fairness, integrity, and quality was uncompromising. Mr. Rush’s attitudes have been maintained under the direction and leadership of those serving the company since.
In 1979, his stepson Hoke V. (Vandy) Harper, who became affiliated with the organization in 1967, took leadership. Under Mr. Harper’s leadership the company successfully focused its efforts on commercial, industrial and distribution markets while expanding its capabilities to offer services in the areas of design/build and construction management. In 2001, Wesley W. Wingard and Kerry Sayers acquired and lead the company for 17 years as President and Vice President.
Today, HBS, Inc. is committed to continuing the course set by Mr. Rush and Mr. Harper under the leadership of Blake Ingram. Mr. Ingram began his construction career with HBS, Inc. in 1997. He assumed control of HBS, Inc. in 2018, as Owner and President of the company.
THE LEADERSHIP
Blake Ingram is President and Owner of HBS, Inc. As an accomplished Project Manager and Field Superintendent with over 23 years of experience in the construction industry, he maintains an excellent reputation with his clients. Blake has a B.S. in Building Science from Auburn University and extensive experience with complex projects working alongside architects, engineers and consultants to achieve realistic goals within constraints imposed by budgets, logistics and resources.
